I feel I need to apologise for neglecting my blog this week, but I do have a good reason! In my teenage wisdom quite a few years ago I decided to paint my bedroom bright lilac, with a dark purple ceiling and dark purple wood work. Over the next few years I then took to using my walls as a massive canvas to cover in paintings of butterflies, birds, flowers and other random doodles. Needless to say, it was overdue a bit of updating and growing up.
So, on Thursday I had my paint, my brushes, and my very tall boyfriend ready to start re-decorating my room. By Sunday, we were finally putting the final coat on the woodwork and I am fairly sure that without help from said boyfriend and my sister, I would still have been painting the next Sunday. So unfortunately it wasn’t a cake filled Easter weekend for us, but we did manage to rustle up a roast dinner on Sunday, complete with (slightly unseasonal) apple and blackberry crumble, mmmm. Although, with the weather we’ve been having the last few days, a crumble seemed the perfect comfort pudding for a dreary Sunday afternoon.
I am so pleased with my new grown up bedroom (unfortunately the re-decorating didn’t stretch to replacing the carpet, don’t worry though, a large fluffy rug is on its way!) and am preparing myself for another pastry challenge this week! Happy Easter everyone!
